Pat Zill, as a youngster, first sang on a kiddy show in Youngstown, Ohio. Growing up, Pat trained to become a professional boxer and after high school he served in the Marines. He was on the Marine Boxing Team and after his military duty fought in the Knights of Columbus Golden Glove tour. After a few pro fights in Youngstown his father encouraged him to quit boxing.

Pat then opened a very successful nightspot in Columbus, Ohio called The Boathouse Lounge. After a twenty-five year run, Pat sold the business and represented several top Columbus automobile dealers. Pat's well known name and his club contacts insured him a steady clientele of buyers.

During the early years of the "Boathouse" a recording company promoter named Pat Nelson heard about the “Singing Bartender,” and decided to have a listen. He heard Pat singing with the Don Haines Quartet and asked Pat to cut a country record in Nashville.

Pat said, “Man, I'm a pop singer, I don't know how to sing country music.” Nelson persuaded Pat that he could. Off to Nashville they went where Owen Bradley, one of the top record producers in Nashville, handled the recording.

That first single, "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down," sold a million copies worldwide, made it to the top of the Country charts and crossed over to the Pop charts. In the next several months it was followed by two more top sellers, "Keys In The Mailbox" and "Heartaches By The Numbers" which stayed on the record charts for Twenty-Seven weeks.

Today Pat Zill has returned to his first love Popular Music. Pat has released several CD's covering his County Hits as well as Popular Music and even a Christmas tribute. Pat sings as well as ever, as you will hear on his newly released CD, “This Love of Mine,” and “A New Beginning.”

During 2005 Pat was a very busy man. Following the death, at 103, of his Beloved Mother, Leda, Pat moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to his son and daughter, who reside there. He is still recording in his famous Balladeer style and released a brand new CD called "This Love of Mine."

Pat has discovered there are many fans of his early country hits, in the Atlanta area. Those songs can be purchased by clicking on the CD Sales button below. Order your copies today and enjoy the wonderful voice America has been listening to for over Forty Years.
